Episode 59

Show the World Your True Self with Rick Clemons

Rick Clemons is a men's coming-out coach and a bold move strategist inspiring gay men to live life with no excuses, no fears, and no apologies. In today’s episode, Heather and Rick dive into the journey that is coming out, coming into the power of living your full truth, and the process behind it all.  Rick also has some valuable advice for the parents of LGBTQ+ children on loving their child’s authentic self and what you can do to support them.

Do not miss these highlights:

05:43 - Own that journey. Own that you're a parent of an LGBTQ individual because when you can own that, the journey becomes much easier

08:27 - How Rick’s speaking in a college in Southern California became a divine intervention and set off the basis of his brand

12:39 - Embrace that coming out is a journey that doesn't end

13:52  - Once you start to own it and figure it out, part of the power is to realize that every day you're going to have the opportunity to come out

16:11 - The person coming out and anybody who they’re sharing that information needs the time and space to process it

29:32 - It's important to know your child still loves you. It has nothing to do with something you did wrong.

34:26 - Enjoy your life and be who you are because there's nothing worse than pretending to be something you're not

37:27 This is not about you at all… This is about your child, your spouse, your friend stepping into their 100% authentic self

41:15 - The Six Step Process of coming out

42:10 - What is the most important thing parents can do to support their LGBTQ child?
